In the eight maps of The Haunted: Hells Reach, there are various small boxes

Hellsreachexplosives

One of the many explosives you can pick up and use on any level.

laying around which containt a random type of explosive. These can be picked up with the F key, and then used with the G key. Each explosive has limited uses and you cannot pick up a new type or the same type of explosive, if you still have explosives in your inventory. These explosives can often be used in tight situations or to kill a huge crowd of minions in one blood filled explosion. Depending on the type too, they can be used to set traps like with Dynamite, Impulse Mines or Sticky Bombs.

Dynamite

To use it, simply throw it down on the ground with G key. It will not explode until you press G again, which will trigger the Dynamites explosion, using the detonator. You cannot set off Dynamite while in midair or mid roll, so be considerate when placing and and detonating Dynamite. It does quite a high amount of damage and will kill most Minions within it's blast radius. You can hold approximately two pieces of Dynamite.

Alchemist Bombs

This is the one type of explosive which isn't actually an explosive. It's actually a glass bottle sealed tight with a cork, and has a strange ability when thrown. It's an instant detonation type of explosive/bottle so if you do throw it, do make sure you aren't too close to the radius. When thrown at enemies, it will suck all enemies within the radius, inside a ball and slice them up into little pieces continously. A strange sort of scream can be heard when the slicing occurs. You can hold two of these.

Cluster Bombs

This explosive is a type of grenade which when thrown, will break up into several smaller grenades, great for bombarding small groups of enemies, or tougher Minions. It is also an instant detonation type of explosive, so do make sure you are out of range. You can carry two of these at once.

You can create an amusing mortar effect by throwing one of these nades into the air. It will explode midair after a few seconds of flight, causing a wide rain of cluster explosives to cover whole areas.

Shrapnel Grenades

These are basically standard hand grenades. When thrown, they will explode on impact but do quite a bit of damage. Seeing as they're standard hand grenades, you can hold a maximum of four of these.

Due to the fact the grenades will be "midair" for at least half a second before exploding (unless you smash them into somethings face), they are excellent to use the Explosive Barrel Roll Maneuver (launching explosive next to you, then doging the explosion with a roll), for example to break out of a mob.

Sticky Bombs

Sticky bombs

These are a more useful type of grenade. They will stick to any surface you throw them at, and will only detonate if there are Minions near it. If you throw it at a Minion, often you will have to shoot the grenade itself and it doesn't always detonate. Because of the radius based detonation, it can often be used for mines. You can carry a maximum of four of these.

Impulse Mines

These are perhaps the most useful type of explosive, if you got a horde behind you. Dropping one will guarantuee to kill anything chasing you for the next few seconds. Like the sticky bombs, these will only detonate if there are Minions near it. However, it will explode multiple times with a rather large radius and a rather big amount of damage. You can carry two of these.
